Prof. Park is a breast surgeon and surgical oncologist at Yonsei University College of Medicine. As a pioneer in robotic mastectomy, he began researching the procedure using cadaveric models in 2013 and performed Asia's first human case of robotic mastectomy in 2016. He also developed a gasless robotic mastectomy technique, becoming the first to publish a paper on the human subject. Continuing his pioneering work, he performed the world's first robotic mastectomy and robotic axillary lymph node dissection using the da Vinci SP system in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Recognized as one of the leading high-volume surgeons in South Korea, his team at Severance Hospital achieved a milestone of over 1,000 cumulative robotic mastectomies in 2025.
